This ministry was inspired by my granddaughter Havien Nicole who was born unexpectedly with a life threatening neurological disease called spinalbifiada and cognilregression in Leavenworth, KS on February 19, 2001.  Havien was taken by Life Flight to Children’s Mercy Hospital (CMH) shortly after birth to save her life and where she spent the first 6 months of her life in the NICU.  Our family was told that Havien would most likely not live very long and that it would take a miracle if she lived to be 12 months old and had at the most 3 years to live.  PRAISE GOD for HE is the Author of LIFE!  Havien is now 9 years old and even though she cannot talk or walk and has to be fed through a tube, she is still a life that god has saved.  Havien is my hero here on this earth and has taught me so many of life’s valuable lessons.

     There is a light that radiates and glows through her eyes and around her face.  She has a way of lighting up a room when you walk in to see her.  She has taught me not to take life for granted and that love comes in so many shapes and forms.  This is a life that has no way of communicating orally with you, but yet makes such a tremendous impact of love and inspiration within my heart far more than words could ever explain.  It is such an honor to be Havien’s Grandmother, but yet I have not done a single deed to earn the right to have been chosen by God to be part of her life; for when I look at this precious little girl I know that I am looking at Heaven's perfect Angel.  Even though Havien cannot tell me how she feels or what she thinks when I am with her, I sometimes wonder if she knows that I love her and then I look at her and can tell that she feels my love when I’m with her, just as I do with her.

     Havien has had so many surgeries and continues to battle this horrible disease, even though the odds have been stacked against her.  I thank God on a daily basis for Havien and for allowing me to be her Grandmother.  Havien has touched so many lives all around the globe; which you can read about through her guest books on her story pages.  I encourage you to take the time to read them and see just how truly amazing this one little girl is and how many hearts she has touched.
